Medicare Advantage is Medicare provided through private insurers that contract with Medicare. Plans bundle Part A and Part B and often Part D, and may include extras like dental, vision, hearing, and fitness. Networks and costs vary by plan. You must be entitled to keep Part A and enrolled in Part B and continue paying the Part B premium.

Oct 15–Dec 7 each year. Change Medicare Advantage or Part D. Changes start Jan 1.
Jan 1–Mar 31. Switch MA plans or return to Original Medicare and, if needed, add Part D.

Premiums, copays, and drug costs vary by plan. Higher-income Part B/D premiums may apply (IRMAA). If you have limited income/resources, the "Extra Help" program can lower Part D costs, and Texas HICAP/SHIP offers free unbiased counseling.
